Anytime is a great time for a lobster dinner! It can add a luxurious touch to an anniversary celebration or a casual meal by the seaside. No matter how you choose to enjoy it, there’s always debate about what to serve with lobster. We’ll take the guesswork out of side dishes for lobsters and share our menu secrets with you. The possibilities are endless, so feel free to get creative with lobster dishes for added flavor.

What to Serve with Lobster

When you are entertaining or making an intimate dinner for two, you’ll want a few crowd-pleasing sides to refer to. There are many options that will balance out a great lobster dish without being too heavy or overwhelming. The key is to keep side dishes light and complimentary to the seafood and star of the show. With the help of a few of our menu side dishes, you’ll create a lobster dinner masterpiece in no time:

  • Butter – One of the most popular staples for lobster dishes is butter. We’ve all likely dipped fresh lobster meat into a small bowl of clarified butter that was phenomenal. Although it is the simplest side dish, it can sit heavily in your stomach. When prepared correctly, the result can be delicious. The process of clarifying butter requires you to separate the milk solids from oily butterfat. It is important to enjoy the meal fully, and clarified butter can ensure that. To switch things up, we’ve included a variety of our signature sauces that will pair well as lobster sides:
    • Piquillo Pepper Chimichurri
    • Rosemary Scented Demi
    • Truffle Butter
    • Bearnaise Sauce
    • Green PepperCorn Sauce
    • Bourbon Honey Sauce
  • Bread – Another one of the most popular lobster sides is bread. This soft, carb-filled addition can take many shapes, including biscuits, rolls, or bread. Keep things simple with our fresh baked milk roll made with Romero honey, whipped butter, and sea salt.

A classy brioche bread loaf is one of the best and lovely sides with lobster dinner. This rich and buttery bread is perfect for soaking up excess juices from lobster. When you want to add more savory flavors to your lobster dish, you can include cheesy garlic biscuits made with store-bought biscuit mix and only four other ingredients. Another carb-friendly option is cauliflower cheese bread that features a cauliflower crust as a substitute for bread perfect for gluten-free or keto dieters!

  • Vegetables – With so many vegetables available, choosing the best sides with lobster can be challenging! A safe and straightforward route to take is to include grilled or steamed vegetables as part of your lobster dinner. We have grilled vegetables, including asparagus, that are complementary to seafood. Additional options include:
    • Truffle fingerling potatoes
    • Whipped mashed potatoes
    • Herb roasted potatoes
    • Sweet potato and marshmallows
    • Steak fries

Add more vegetable variety with garlic sauteed spinach seasoned to perfection or prosciutto-wrapped asparagus. To keep it simple, you can air-fry green beans for a lighter touch. Both choices add a degree of flavor and elegance your guests will love.

  • Salads – Seafood and salad go together like peanut butter and jelly! A fresh salad adds a flavorful yet light touch to lobster dishes that is always appreciated. With so many to choose from, your side dishes for lobsters won’t lack creativity. Some ideas from our menu include:
    • Kale Caesar Salad – Add a twist to the usual Caesar salad with emerald kale lettuce, caesar dressing, Parmigiano Reggiano, croutons, and a soft poached egg.
    • Iceberg Wedge – Keep it simple with baby iceberg lettuce, heirloom baby tomatoes, cucumbers, gorgonzola dressing, candied pecans, watermelon radish.
    • Burrata & Tomato – Go Italian with local burrata, heirloom tomato chutney, toasted hazelnuts, 25-year aged balsamic, orange slices, and micro basil.
    • House Mix Green Salad – Try our traditional mix green salad made with mesclun lettuce, arugula, heirloom baby tomatoes, avocado, red onions, lemon oregano vinaigrette.
    • Crab and Asparagus Salad – Add seafood with this salad made with jumbo lump crab, lemon dressing, grated hard-boiled egg, heirloom baby tomatoes, avocado, and chives.

Salads paired with lobster dishes don’t always have to be vegetables. A light pasta salad is a great addition when you don’t know what to serve with lobster tails. Cold pasta salads are a favored cookout dish paired with grilled or steamed lobster. No mayonnaise is required.

  • More seafood – When you don’t know what to serve with lobster tails, add more seafood! Create variety with chilled seafood sides or steamed choices. Try steamed mussels as an appetizer or shrimp. You’ll find plenty of choices on our menu:
    • Fresh Shucked Oysters – Enjoy oysters from the east coast by Blue Point, west coast Taylor Pacific, or Shigoku premium oysters.
    • Classic Peruvian Ceviche – This classic lobster side dish is made with mahi-mahi, cilantro, red onion, lime juice, garlic, sweet potato, and corn nuts.
    • Shrimp Cocktail – A popular choice, our shrimp cocktail is made with Florida pink shrimp, cocktail sauce, house-smoked hot sauce, lime lemon, passionfruit aioli.
    • Seafood Tower – If you want to go all out, our seafood tower has everything, including more lobster, oysters, crab salad, ceviche, shrimp, cocktail sauce, passion aioli, lemons, and limes.
  • Soup – There’s nothing like a good bisque to complete a lobster dinner! Whether you choose to stretch your culinary skills or prefer us to serve it, you won’t be disappointed. A lobster bisque may be the first choice, but you can also go for crayfish, shrimp, or crab bisque. It is a simple but creamy soup made with broth from crustaceans. We offer a couple of soup options on our menu:
    • Lobster Bisque – This classic is made with lobster meat, chives, olive oil, sour cream, caviar, and herbs.
    • French Onion – This signature soup is made with gruyere cheese, sourdough toast, and chives.
  • Wine, Beer, or Champagne – Any lobster dinner is not complete without wine, beer, or champagne to accompany the fresh flavors of the sea. White or rose wines like chardonnay, riesling, sauvignon blanc, or chianti pair well with lobster dishes. For those who prefer beer, a Belgian witbier, German-style pilsners, or an India pale ale blend seamlessly with lobster dishes on the palette. If these choices are not satisfactory, there is no better time to sip champagne than with lobster tails.
